I was gently reminded today that I am a slacker, so here you go:

Pictures of our new baby, Willow, are up. You can see them in the new album listed in the sidebar. She is a pistol and seems to love Monty. Also, she’s definitely a mommy’s girl.

I’ve been sick all week with a wicked sinus infection. No fun, but the antibiotics seem to be kicking its ass good and proper.

Last weekend was fun but bittersweet. Caren and Niels came for their last weekend and we will miss them dearly while they’re in China. We were joined by the Marthas and Matt, which made it even better. We had some kickass Indian food on Friday night and a sexy waiter to go with it. He asked for your number, Caren, but I told him you were running away to China with that kraut bastard. ;)

Swampstock is rapidly approaching and I started my list this morning. (Stuff to take, stuff to buy when we get to P-burg, etc.) I’m very excited to see everyone again. Here’s hoping for good weather. No rain and no heat wave!!!!!

On the knitting front, I’m making the Heartbreakingly Cute Baby Kimono from the  Mason Dixon Knitting book. It’s really easy and a fun knit. If I have time, I’m going to embroider a pirate on the front for McCrady’s new little dude. I started the Harlot’s Snowdrop Shawl a few months ago, but cast it aside when we got Monty as 24/7 puppy-watching is not conducive to lace knitting. Now that we have a kitten, I don’t expect to pick it back up for a while. I’ve been terrible about posting knitting photos, so I’ll have to get back on that train.

In case some of you (all two of you who read this) don’t yet know, my brother is getting married. Yikes. MY BROTHER IS GETTING MARRIED! June 30, 2007 is the official date and I’m going to be a bridesmaid. Awwwwwwww

Enough discombobulated posting for now. I’ll be back soon.

Quick Update

I'm getting ready to leave for work, so this is just a quick update to say that I'm still alive. I've been busy taking a pottery class, knitting, playing with Monty, and becoming an old lady. More on all that later.

So tired

I had big plans for tonight. I was going to write a post I spent much of the day formulating, I was going to clean for the impending parental visit, I was going to take a walk with Monty...but then I had an almost three hour commute. I came home, looked at cute dog pictures and will now veg out in front of the tv before I go to bed. That will mean lots of work for tomorrow night, but I just don't care right now. Commutes like this one make me want to move to a small town.

Happy Birthday to Martha A and a hearty Get Well NOW to Martha L! Lots of love your way, ladies!

LPGA

I have the house all to myself again this weekend, but there is much to do. My parents are coming next weekend so it's clean, clean, clean.

I went to the LPGA Championship at Bulle Rock in Havre de Grace and all I got was this nasty sunburn! I'm not into golf or sports of any sort, but I got free tickets at work and thought it would be a nice experience. It was! I saw Annika Sorenstam, Michelle Wie and many others, not that I knew who any of these people were before today.

I'm starting a pottery (wheel throwing) class at Baltimore Clayworks in a couple of weeks and I'm so excited about it that I just about can't stand it. I have been so inspired by Papa's work that I have wanted to try pottery for several years now. I wish it was starting tomorrow.

Monty is doing well, mostly. He's a little bad, but what six-month-old puppy isn't? The housetraining is only so-so and I want it to be done right now. He chewed off the top of one of my flip flops last night and I was not a happy dog-mom this morning.

I have new pictures that I'll try to get up tonight or tomorrow. We saw a beautiful, new Luna moth on Thursday evening and I took a few shots. Nothing new on the knitting front. I haven't knit in weeks. That has to be a record for me. I have been working sporadically on a crochet hat that I should finish tonight. At least I've been working on something.

Hope your weekend is going well. Happy Birthday Matt (today) and Caren (the 12th)!!! I'm sorry I can't be there.

A spare moment

My life is still consumed with the puppy. But in a happy way. We LOVE him and he's so much fun. We all had a nice trip to WV last weekend and Monty got to meet both of his grandmothers. I went to my first auction in Rockport and bought a great mission-esque rocker that my parents are bringing it up an a few weeks. It needs to be re-upholstered, but other than that it's in great shape.

The next month promises to be quite busy. The wee one is coming next weekend, but she and Dan will spend most of the long weekend geeking out at Balticon. More latah.
